Bonfire night cupcakes recipes

 

 

Ingredients for cupcakes:
  • 110g butter
  • 110g golden caster sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2tsp vanilla extract
  • 110g self raising flour
  • 1 pinch salt
Ingredients for buttercream:
  • 150g softened butter
  • 300g icing sugar
  • 1tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3 tbp milk
  • Food colouring
Cupcake method:
  • Heat oven to 180c/160c Fan/Gas 4
  • Fill a 12 cupcake tray with cupcake-cases
  • Beat the butter and caster sugar together till it's pale and fluffy
  • Then mix in the eggs one at a time
  • Next add the vanilla extract, self raising flour and the salt into the bowl and mix
  • Spoon the mixture into the cases
  • Bake for 15 mins until it's golden brown
  • Leave to cool completely
Buttercream method:
  • Whisk the butter until completely soft
  • Next add the icing sugar, vanilla and salt
  • Mix together to make a very smooth texture
  • Now add the milk in and mix
  • Add in the food colouring then mix to complete
Ingredients for decorations:
  • Chocolate flakes
  • Buttercream
  • Red icing balls
Decoration method:
  • Ice the buttercream onto the buns in a bumpy form (piping optional)
  • Next place the flakes on to create a point at the top to create a bonfire/wooden log look
  • Finally sprinkle the icing balls over the icing and the flakes to create flames
Now your cupcakes are done and you can enjoy them on bonfire night.
