Book review on “Matilda”

Introduction

Matilda, is a wonderful book to read. It’s full of adventure, family mixups and danger, a perfect book for a little girl.

Plot

This book is about a smart girl called Matilda who loves to read. Meanwhile her parents misunderstand her and encourage her to watch lots of tv. Matilda really wants to go to school (like other children) and have a good education but, her father just won’t allow it. Soon, he finally says yes and Matilda screams with delight. Little did she know that her loathing headmistress can be very strict!

Main Characters

The main characters in this book are very different from each other and that’s what makes them all so special and unique. These are characters such as: Matilda Wormwood, Harry Wormwood, Zinnia Wormwood, Miss Trunchball, Miss Honey and Miss Phelps. My favourite character is obviously Matilda because she is smart, kind, warm hearted and loyal.

Opinion

Roald Dahl has written many amazing books but Matilda is probably my favourite. I love it because it is easy to relate to and easy to understand. I would easily give this book a 5/5 as it is just amazing. Quentin Blake’s illustrations to the book were perfectly matched to the description.

I would recommend this book to anyone aged 7 plus because it is perfect for others to comprehend with and -if the reader is a girl- they could possibly relate to Matilda.

I hope you enjoyed this article! Also, if you haven’t already read this one-of-a-kind  book (Matilda) you should definitely read it, it’s a must for all of the family.
