Different types of cats

There can be lots of different cats and they can all live in different places ,  can be different colors and have different skin. In fact they can be just like humans. A male cat is called a Tom and a female cat is called a Queen. They have five toes on each front paw and only have four on each back paw. Humans greet each other by shaking hands and cats greet one another by touching there noses together. An average cat sleeps 16-18 hours a day.  By the way my favorite  cat is  a black one which is also in this article.

Kittens are the first breed that you can get and are the cute little baby ones they can be just how we were born (tiny.)   They often like to rest and sleep. Their eyes open at around one week of age but they can not see or hear clearly until they are 2-3 weeks old. At this stage this means there mum needs to look after them. New born kittens can purr. All kittens are born with blue eyes and there colour only develops at around eight weeks old.

Black cats are just like all cats, cute and cuddly. Did you know that they can have blue eyes, green eyes, but more commonly they are yellow or even golden? 22 black cat breeds can possibly come with solid black coats, unbelievable! Although black cats are just as beautiful and loving as all other colored cats, sadly they are least likely to be adopted. If you are thinking about getting a cat it would be a wonderful idea to give a black cat a caring home.

There are also big cats out there. These are some of the most powerful animals on the planet, such as tigers, lions,  leopards and jaguars. Tigers are one of the largest of the big cats they usually have thick fur which keeps them warm in cold and snowy weathers. Lions normally live in groups of 10 to 30, the groups are called prides.  The roar of a lion can be five miles away.   Leopards are the best climbers and spend most of their time up a tree. A jaguar is the third largest of the big cats after the lion and tiger. Jaguars prefer to live in rain forests and can be found in other places. They like to roam, hunt and live alone.
