How to deal with Mental Health Issues

Just remember, if you have mental health problems you are still important. Although you may think that you are different, you are the same as everyone else around you. If you want to know how to deal with it, just stick around and read this article till the end.

Talk about it

The first type of mental health issue can be that people that don’t speak out and tell others how they feel. You need to do the opposite of this. If you feel really worried about something, then just speak out. Tell at least three or four different people you trust about how you feel. Eventually, one of them will talk to you and try help. But if you are still young and go to school, try telling one of the teachers.  They could then sit you down in the corner in the classroom and speak about it. Or if you want a chat in complete private, then they can take you to a totally different room. Once you have done this for the first time you slowly start to realise that you will be feeling better.

Different types of mental health issues

Two types of mental health issue to mention are anxiety and panic attacks. Anxiety is where you are concerned about something and/or over worry about something that is going on in your life. A panic attack is caused by anxiety, it is a overwhelming sudden attack that can be cuased by not speaking out and worrying too much.   This is what could potentially happen to you if you don’t speak out. This could result in you not being able to go outside often or meet lots of new people. If you don’t say what you feel then it will stay inside you and haunt you. Do you want an anxiety or a panic attack? I hope not. So if you don’t want this to happen to you then I suggest to communicate with the world more and state your feelings.

Another type of mental health issue you may know of is depression.  This is where you can’t get it out  of your head but you can through your eyes. Some people who have this are probably crying themselves to sleep on a night. They are doing this because they have not told anyone. Many people who suffer this and may not have spoken out in school. Always try to find someone to talk about your worries or problems with. Some of them might not have spoken to the right type of person and there could be a chance that they are being bullied because of it. In my opinion to bully someone because of that is stupid. They should be looking after you!

An eating disorder is a diagnosis given to someone who has unhealthy thoughts, feelings and behaviour about food and their body shape – this type of disorder is called Anorexia. The other disorder is called Bulimia. Which is the complete opposite of Anorexia: it is where you nay choose to binge eat  but then make yourself sick. If you have anorexia of bulimia, just try to get help because I guarantee you that help is out there.

Remember: a problem shared is a problem halved.

SPEAK OUT!
