How to make an apple crumble

You will need:

  1. 300g of plain flour
  2. a pinch of salt
  3. 175g of unrefined brown sugar
  4. 200g of unsalted butter
  5. tiny bit of extra butter for greasing

 

For the filling:

  • 450g of peeled and cored apple cut into small pieces
  • 50g of unrefined brown sugar
  • 1tsp of plain flour
  • 1 pinch of ground cinnamon

 

How to make it:

  1. Preheat the oven at 180c/350f/gas 4
  2. Pour the flour and the sugar into a bowl then mix well
  3. Then add the butter and mix until it looks like bread crumbs
  4. Add the chopped up apple into a separate bowl sprinkle with sugar, flour and cinnamon then mix
  5. Butter a bowl then place the apple mixture then on top of it the crumble
  6. Finally, put in the oven for 40-45 minutes. Take it out when the crumble is browned and the apple is bubbling, the apple crumble is ready.
  7. Enjoy (with or without custard or cream)
