OLV Student Poem

OLV poem
There is a school, the finest you have seen,
the colour of the jumper is forest green.
Don’t be shy and shout it loud,
because we are OLV and we are proud!

The playground is so fun,
because you can climb and run.
In the playground you can chat with friends,
at least until playtime ends.

At OLV some trips are near and some are far,
We travel by boat, plane and by car.
So far I have built dens and trees I’ve climbed,
Abseiled, stayed in a bunk barn and even ziplined!

Assemblies are a time for house points and congratulation,
and Mr Devlin gives us lots of information.
Once a term a child from each year is chosen,
they are added to the book because they are golden.

In maths you add and take away,
in RE we learn about God and pray.
In PE you learn to play games with a ball,
I can’t pick a favourite I like them all.

Mr Devlin is the boss and a big Star Wars fan,
Mr Booth is the Head and a really great man,
Mrs Balson is funny and helps year 5 a lot,
Miss Jessop is smiley and cares a lot.

Being an OLV boy is lots of fun,
The teachers are nice to everyone.
The thing about OLV that’s really clear,
Is it’s the finest school in the Northern Hemisphere!

Amazing,Finn. It really shows what Olv really is.
You have nice rhyming words and a great sense of humour. I love the part about Mr Devlin being a Star Wars fan and the bit about Maths, RE and PE.
You should read this on the school Radio.

You are like an author, but for poems (so good at writing) I wonder where you get it? Cause I want it!

What a great poem! I hope one of the writers from St Joseph’s can rise to that level and write a poem about our school on Queen’s Road.
