Safer Internet Day

The internet is a great way to communicate to others, and loads of people from all over the world use it to do lots of magnificent things with it. Here at Fab Mag, we use the internet a lot to publish articles and write them. However, did you know that with the internet comes a lot of danger?

Safer internet day 2018 will globally be held on Tuesday 6th February. It is celebrated every year to raise awareness for the safety and positive use for children using the internet.

The day offers the opportunity to highlight positive uses of technology and to explore the role we all play in helping to create a better and safer online community. Help get involved to play your part!

This years slogan for SID is ‘Create, Connect and Share respect: A better internet starts with you.’ This suggests that it is a call to action for everybody to play there part.

As a result of this collective action Safer internet day 2017 reached 3 million children and 2 million parents across the UK. This year we’re hoping for more people to be aware. Together we can make a positive difference. The majority of children spoke to their parents about staying safe online.  79% felt more convinced talking about what to do about any worries online. If you’re worried about something online, then you should talk to an adult or a friend. Don’t ever keep it to yourself.
