ST VALENTINE

WHAT ST VALENTINE IS KNOWN FOR:

St Valentine’s feast day  is officially known as February  14th and the patron saint of love, young people and happy marriages. He is also known as St Valentine of Rome, which is a third century Roman saint widely celebrated  on February 14th. Not much of St Valentine’s life is reliably known, nor his stories even though they involve two different saints by the same name.

 

WHAT HAS BEEN DONE TO HIM/WHAT HE’S BEEN DOING:

St Valentine was later arrested again for trying to convert people to Christianity, and was sent to Rome under the Emperor Claudius Gothicos. He, St Valentine, was imprisoned for marrying Christian couples and aiding Christians persecuted by Claudius in Rome.

 

DEATH:

St Valentine’s date of death was 14th February 269 AD, the place of the death was in Rome, Italy. The cause of death was because of he was tortured. He was tortured when he was converting the Emperor, the Claudius sentenced him to death- an ugly death was that!
