The Bradford Finals Football Tournament

After winning the Oakbank football tournament qualification round, our school progressed onto the Bradford finals tournament at Goals. Sadly, our goalkeeper Elliott dropped out a week before the finals, so we had to pick a new goalie, Archie. He did well, even though he isn’t usually a goalkeeper, but after a few games, Connor went in the nets.

I can’t remember the scores, but I know we came joint second, which I thought was a great team effort. Annoyingly, they had a better goal difference and the top two teams carried on to a semi-final and a final, whilst we were on our way back to school.

  • Kieran
  • Archie

and our fantastic coach Mr Garnett.

At the end of the tournament, Eldwick won, but they weren’t in our league as in the qualifiers the top two teams went through to the finals, all the teams who came first went into league A and second place went into league B, but as we came first we were in league A.

We loved this article James! It was so interesting to find out what happened! We find it upsetting that Elliott dropped out.
