Tiger Facts.

 

  1. Tigers are the largest cat species.
  2. They are carnivores, this means that they are meat-eaters.
  3. There are many different species of tigers such as Bengal Tiger, South China Tiger and Siberian Tiger.
  4. They live in India, Napal, Russia and China.
  5. There are only 3000 of these big cats left in the wild.
  6. There are more tigers held privately as pets than there are in the wild.
  7. Tigers can swim up to 6 kilometres.
  8. Around half of all tiger cubs don’t live beyond 2 years of age.
  9. A group of tigers is known as an ambush.
  10. Tigers usually hunt alone at night.
  11. No two tigers have exactly the same stripes.
  12. The roar of the Bengal tiger can carry over 2km at night.
  13. Tigers have been known to reach speeds of up to 65kph.
  14. Tigers can bite through teeth with their powerful teeth and jaws.
  15. Tigers have antiseptic saliva. They lick their wounds to disinfect them.
