I just want to say how good it feels to be back at FabMag! I’m back with a bunch of talented writers! Anyways, let’s get on with the article!
I own 4 pet fish at home and they love their food! Every morning they fight over the fish food and try to find more in the rocks and plants. Even though you might think they’re boring, they are actually kind of calming. There are quite a lot of fish breeds. I have a Black Telescope fish. They look like this:
My first tip is to check on them quite a lot. I do it to check if they’re not dead.. I had one fish and it died. No one noticed until I pointed it out!
My second tip is to feed them once a day, I feed them in the morning. I actually used to feed my old fish twice a day, day and night and they were fat. Probably the reason my old fish died. What I’m trying to say is that don’t overfeed them.
My third tip is to buy little pieces of accessories for the fish to explore and play with. For example, fake plants or a small boat.
My fourth tip is to clean out the filter. The filter basically creates clean water for the fish so they can survive.
My fifth tip is to make sure they have LOTS of space in the tank to, well, I guess swim around the rocks and plants!
I like to have other goldfish in the tank so they aren’t lonely. Now remember, sometimes fish can’t adapt to their environment sometimes and they could die. Sadly, you can’t really do anything to help.. it’s happened to me once and worry builds up!
I’m thankful that my newer fish haven’t died yet! So good for me.
Here are the names of my fish and their breeds:
Penguin (Black Moor)
Spot (I think he’s an Oranda)
Nectar (Common Goldfish)
Honeycomb (Common Goldfish)
For now, I think 4 fish are enough, I don’t really plan on getting more. I think it’s easier to buy the same breed of fish because they can all eat the same food and I don’t need to buy separate food.
Anyways, hope I’ve given you some tips on how to look after your fish!
