Valentine’s Day recipe

This is how you make a Valentines Day cupcake 

This is what you will need:

 A bun tin 

Paper bun cases

Ingredients:

Three eggs 

150 g (5 oz) butter softened.

150 g (5 oz) sugar 

175 g (6 oz) self- raising flour

1 teaspoon of vanilla essence

For the topping:

Ready-to-roll fondant icing 

Use pink or red food colouring

Preheat the oven to 175 c/ 350 f / gas mark 4

First, put the bun cases into the bun tin.

Next, crack the eggs into a bowl and beat them lightly with a fork. Add the beaten eggs to a large bowl containing the butter, sugar, flour and vanilla essence.

After that, Beat it all with an electric mixer for two minutes, until the mixture is light and creamy Ask an adult to help you use the electric mixer.

Next use a teaspoon to transfer equal amounts of the mixture to the paper cases.Bake the cupcakes for 18 to 20 minutes. Leave them to cool down on a wire rack.

Finally knead a couple of drops of food colouring into half the fondant icing. When the colour is even, roll out the icing and cut out heart shapes to cover each cupcake you could use different colours of fondant if you wanted to.

  2. Some good imperative verbs used there! Remember that the day itself is a proper noun Valentine’s Day so capitals for both words and the day belongs to St Valentine so we use a possessive apostrophe like this: Valentine’s
